Dice Tree
Roll, claim a matching tile and climb to the star. Top tile wins the tree.
Dice Tree is a two-player dice game where you roll and claim a tile showing your number on the glowing level of a tree. Fill a level to move up, and the first player to claim the star tile at the top wins.
Roll your die and every tile on the glowing level that shows your number lights up. Tap one to stamp it as yours, climb the tree level by level, and take the star at the top to win.

How to play Dice Tree: quick rules
About 1 to 1.5 minutes a tree. Full rules, options and bot levels are further down.
- 1Tap your die to roll.
- 2Tiles on the glowing level that match your roll light up. Tap one to claim it.
- 3No match? The turn passes. Fill a level and play moves up.
- 4Claim the star tile at the top to win the tree.
Dice Tree rules
The tree
- The tree has 5 levels (4 or 6 with the Tree height option). The bottom level has 5 tiles, each level above has one fewer, and the top level is a single star tile.
- Every tile shows a die face from 1 to 6, dealt at random and new for every tree. Faces can repeat on a level, and both players can see every tile from the start.
- Play happens on the current level: the lowest level that still has a free tile. Tiles on other levels are dimmed and can't be claimed.
- A new match picks the first roller with a coin toss, and a rematch starts with the player who lost.
A turn
- Roll your own die. Every free tile on the current level showing that number lights up.
- Tap one lit tile to claim it. It takes your mark, a heart for Red and a cross for Blue, and the turn passes.
- If no free tile on the current level shows your number, the level shakes and the turn passes.
- When a claim fills the current level, play moves up one level.
The star and winning
- Whoever claims the top tile wins the tree. A tree can't end in a draw.
- Star duel (on by default): when the top level is reached, both players roll at the same time from their own end. If exactly one roll matches the star, that player takes it. If both or neither match, both roll again.
- With Star duel off, players keep taking turns and the first to roll the star's number takes it.
- The loser of a tree starts the next one. A Single match is one tree; best of 3 needs 2 trees and best of 5 needs 3.
- Every roll, the bot's included, comes from fair dice that are never adjusted.
Hints against the bot
- With the basic rules every lit tile is worth the same, so there is nothing to hint and no hint button shows.
- With Two dice or Baubles on, after a roll where the choice really matters you can spend 20 coins on a hint. It rings the best tile for two seconds and never claims it for you. One hint per turn.
- No hints with a friend, online or in a tournament.
Extras
- Star duel
- On by default. Both players roll at once for the star, so neither seat has the edge at the top.
- Baubles
- Off by default. Each level below the top hides one bauble tile; claim it and roll again.
- Two dice
- Off by default. Roll two dice and claim one tile showing either number.
Tips to win at Dice Tree
- 1With the basic rules every lit tile is worth the same, so just roll and enjoy the climb; no choice can lose it for you.
- 2With Baubles on, claim a bauble tile whenever your roll lets you: it gives you another roll.
- 3Filling a level moves play up with your rival rolling first, so with Two dice on, think twice before taking the last free tile when you have another choice.
Controls
Phone flat between you. Each player owns a half, and the far half faces the far player.
- Tap your own die, in your dock at your end of the table, to roll. Only the mover's die is lit, except in a Star duel when both are.
- Tap any lit tile to claim it. Taps on dim or already taken tiles do nothing.
- Taps made while the die tumbles, a level shakes or the countdown runs are ignored.

Every option is free. Defaults are marked.

Play Dice Tree against the bot
The bot plays Blue with the same fair dice and never sees a future roll. With the basic rules every lit tile is worth the same, so you play a single Bot with no level to pick. With Two dice or Baubles on, the choice of tile matters and Easy, Normal and Hard appear.
Easy
Claims a lit tile at random about half the time.
Normal
Usually claims the tile that gives it the best chance of winning the tree, with the odd random pick.
Hard
Always claims the tile that gives it the best chance of winning the tree.

How it feels
- A dice rattle on felt, then the matching tiles lift with a glowing ring.
- A soft felt thup as your mark stamps into a tile, a dull tap and a shake on a miss.
- A rising chime as play climbs a level, and a drum roll when the Star duel starts.
- A fanfare and rays from the star when someone takes the top tile.
Accessibility
- Claimed tiles show the owner's mark, a heart or a cross, not just colour.
- Die faces are drawn as pips, and the current level is marked by arrows on both sides of the tree.
- Every tile has a screen reader label, and the rolled number is announced.
- With reduced motion on there is no shake, pulse or rays.
